I suffer from Ulcerative Colitis a form of Inflammatory bowel disease.
Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a long-term condition that results in inflammation and ulcers of the colon and rectum.
Another form of Inflammatory bowel disease is Crohn’s disease.
Crohn’s disease can affect any part of the gastrointestinal tract from mouth to anus.
Due to the nature of Inflammatory bowel disease we may need to use the toilet in a hurry.
Sometimes we will use disabled friendly toilets due to the nature of our disease.
Just because we look well, it doesn’t mean we’re healthy. Inflammatory bowel disease is an invisible illness.
You can’t see it.
Please try not to judge us based on our appearance, we all know how deceiving appearance can be.
Out of respect for myself and everyone else please leave the toilet clean and useable.
No one likes to be greeted by a seat full of urine and unflushed stools.
Sometimes we don’t have the time to spend wiping up the mess you’ve left.
It usually results in an accident – not fun at all.
I completely get you may be in a rush, but we don’t have the time to clean up after you.
I’m not saying this is the case every time I use a public toilet but it can be a regular occurrence, definitely men’s toilets anyway… (sorry ladies I don’t know your experiences)
I think if we all left things the way we would like to use them then the world would be a much cleaner and nicer place.
To the toilet cleaners who have to clean all this crap (bad pun) I salute you.
